Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many people are included in the rate?
A: 1-4 people are included in the rate. Each additional person up to 6 total guests is $50 more/person
Q: Is this a private charter or will we be paired up with others?
A: 100% of Fishing Solves Everything charters are 100% private
Q: What is the length of a 1/2 day charter?
A: 5 hours – most half-day charters are 4 hours – we like to be different
Q: Do you offer anything less than 5 hours?
A: Yes, for those who enjoy eating dinner at 4:30 and/or toddlers we offer a 3-hour adventure.
Q: What can we expect to catch?
A: Many of the species are seasonal but on a typical 1/2 day adventure on FSE you can expect to catch 4+ different species. Some of these include mangrove snapper, lane snapper, snook, jack crevalle, cobia, redfish, sheepshead, pompano, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, bonito, blue runner, gag grouper, Goliath grouper, tarpon, tripletail, and sharks (black tip, bull, lemon, blacknose, spinner, bonethead, hammerhead, tiger, sharp nose, and nurse).
Q: Will you filet the fish for us?
A: Yes, and then you can take your fresh filets to a local restaurant or back to your house or condo for a fresh fish lunch or dinner.
Some of our local favorites include: Island Gypsy Cafe, Capri Fish House, and Pelican Bend Restaurant, all on Capri and Kokomos on Marco.
Q: What is included?
A: All bait, tackle, licenses, ice, and the one and only Captain Glen who won’t rest until everyone on board is smiling.
Note: We no longer provide bottled water for environmental and health and safety reasons.
Q: What should we bring?
A: Hats, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, drinks (including water), snacks and a fin-tasticly -optimistic attitude
Q: What should we NOT bring?
A: Please no Crocs. I know they are wildly popular but they are unsafe boat shoes (super slippery) if the least bit wet. Also, no black-soled shoes please, and thank you!
Q: Do kids need a life jacket?
A: Kids 7 and older do not need a life jacket. All kids 6 and under need to wear a life jacket the entire time we are on the boat.
Q: Once we leave the dock, typically, how long before we have lines in the water?
A: Usually we have lines in the water within 10-15 minutes of leaving the dock = more time fishing!
Q: Can we go shelling or swimming during the trip?
A: Of course, if you want to do a little shelling and/or swimming to cool off we can certainly accommodate you.
Q: Will I get seasick?
A: No one has ever been sick on board Fishing Solves Everything. Since we specialize in backwater fishing, the water is super calm so no need for Dramamine.
Q: Are there any age restrictions?
A: No age restrictions although we would recommend the little tikes 3-hour charter for those 4 and under.
Q: How much should I tip the Captain?
A: All tips are very much appreciated; 20% is customary
